Profile Eberhard Otto Runge
I was born in Hamburg. After graduating from a technical grammar school I completed an apprenticeship, followed by a degree in mechanical engineering and a second apprenticeship as an industrial sales clerk.
In April 1965, the Norddeutsche-Filter-Vertriebs GmbH (NFV) was founded in Hamburg as a subsidiary of DFG/FRAM-Filter GmbH, of which I was a shareholder and managing director.
In 2006, in order to secure jobs and the Hamburg site, NFV was sold to MAHLE Industriefiltration GmbH, a member of the MAHLE Group, Stuttgart. I established E. R. Consulting mid-2008 and supported MAHLE and their customers until the end of 2012. Since january 2013 I work as an undependant consultant (E.R. Consulting).
I was a member of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce plenum for years and chairman of the Chamber’s “Environment” committee, which I remain a member of. I am also member of the “Environment” committee of the DIHK (German Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in Berlin.
I also work in a voluntary capacity at NSMT-DIN on the committee for marine and oceanic environment and offshore, where we deal with all matters concerning marine environmental protection. In the same field I am working for ISO (International Organization of Standardization). Also I am representing Germany in the Afnor department of environmental protection (NATO).
As the chairman of a business research association of the CDH (National Association of German Commercial Agencies and Distribution), I am interested in new marketing and sales strategies.
I was committed to helping young people in my capacity as a sponsor at the Young Academy of the Chamber of Commerce, where we provided assistance to ensure that they get off to a good start in their chosen career.
My sporting activities and interests have always been wide and very varied. For 40 years, I was the chairman of the archery club Hamburger Bogenschützen Gilde, and am now its honorary chairman.
